Our client currently has a locum job vacancy for a team manager to work within an assessment team based in Manchester. This vacancy has an initial 3 month contract and the pay rate for this role is £30 per hour (limited company worker).

Duties include:
- Providing regular supervision to social workers
- Ensuring all members of the team receive regular supervision where applicable
- Chairing strategy meetings
- Identifying and implementing staff training and development
- Attending court and giving evidence when required

Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, all applicants must have a degree (or similar) within social work and be registered with the HCPC. You must also have at least 2 years recent post qualifying experience working within a similar role.

The Role

To provide a mobile and responsive estate management service across a range of schemes across my client’s operating areas.
To carry out regular inspections to maintain standards for estate management including performance of service contracts; fire risk and health and safety audits; and raising and monitoring orders for responsive repairs, cleaning or landscaping.
To maintain a visible presence for customers and conduct accompanied scheme inspections; responding to customer enquiries; supporting tenant involvement through home visits and day time and evening meetings.
To enforce tenancy/leasehold conditions by assisting victims of nuisance and keeping accurate records for legal action.
To carry out ad hoc cleaning, litter picking, removal of grafitti or fly-tipping and replacing communal lighting.

Summary:

Must be flexible and willing to work shift patterns in line with the direct support needs of the service.
Must be a good role model and mentor and be willing to take a leadership role in the staff team.

Develop and maintain links and attend meetings with other multi-disciplinary teams within the Hospital setting

To provide, where necessary, social reports for medical and nursing staff to assist in the planning of patient care and after care

To manage statutory requirements under the Community Care Act, Mental Health Act and Chronically Sick & Disabled Act

To undertake safeguarding & Incapacity Assessments

To fulfil management and administrative responsibilities as per the requirements of the role
Encourage those who use our services to communicate their needs and to engage them in the process of delivery of care and support

To communicate effectively with the people who use our services, as well as Social Services/Care Management and hospital teams, families and all other relevant parties

Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality of records and information in day to day communication and when certain information may need to be passed on

The pay rate for this role will be £8 per hour, rising to £8.25 after successful probation period, and £8.75 for candidates with an NVQ/QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care.

The position will require the successful candidates to undertake shifts within a challenging but highly rewarding setting. As a Support Worker you will work as part of the care team to maintain a happy and caring environment that puts the welfare of the service users at the forefront. The available shifts will be on a full time basis and will require the successful candidate to work alternative weekends, early morning and evenings.

Responsibilities

-Reporting and monitoring the well being of the service users, under supervision and guidance of trained staff

-Supporting in the development of the process, practices and delivery of active care and recovery

Requirements

-Clear understanding of Autism and supporting Children with Autism

-Ability to communicate on all levels

-GCSE English and Maths or equivalent training/qualification or able to demonstrate the same

-NVQ2/NVQ3 is desirable

-Experience within a care setting or preferably Autism and with children is desirable but not essential
